M. P. Sugitha is an emerging youth leader from Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, recognized for her achievements in Silambam, rifle shooting, and social service. Along with her sporting journey, she is actively involved in empowering students, supporting the needy, and promoting education, traditional arts, and responsible citizenship. Her mission is to inspire positive change through discipline, service, and leadership.
International Silambam Record Holder and National-Level Rifle Shooter, M. P. Sugitha has won multiple awards at state, national, and international levels. She has also represented in the 68th National Shooting Championship Competitions and continues to inspire youth through sports, discipline, and leadership.

Recipient of the prestigious Kalai Ilamani Award – 2022 (Cash Award: ₹4,000/-), a distinguished district-level Government arts honour. The award was presented by the District Collector of Tiruchirappalli in recognition of outstanding talent and achievement in the field of Silambam (Traditional Martial Art).

Dedicated to uplifting underprivileged communities through sustained humanitarian efforts
Led a long-term blanket distribution initiative, providing essential winter relief to over 100 roadside dwellers annually for 7 consecutive years, impacting more than 700 underprivileged individuals.
Facilitated the distribution of new clothing to over 100 government school students each year for 6 continuous years, benefiting more than 600 students from economically weaker sections.
Played an active frontline role during the COVID-19 pandemic by organizing daily distribution of food and protective masks to nearly 100 people, ensuring safety and basic needs during a critical public health crisis.
Donated books worth ₹10,000 to Tiruchirappalli Central Prison, contributing to rehabilitation and educational development of inmates.
Strengthened the working conditions of street vendors by distributing umbrellas and hand fans to over 100 roadside vendors annually for 4 years, benefiting more than 400 individuals exposed to harsh weather conditions.
Actively promoting traditional martial arts by conducting free Silambam training for government school students for the past 3 years, encouraging discipline, fitness, and preservation of cultural heritage.
A dedicated youth leader serving as President of Veera Mangai Velunachiyar Elaiyor Nala Sangam and Vice President of the World Silambam Youth Federation (WSYF). Through initiatives under My Bharat, she leads rallies, training programs, and awareness campaigns, inspiring young people to contribute to society with discipline and purpose.
